Chiron Botanicals is a unique herbal company nestled in the charming village of Drakeia on Mount Pelion, Greece. Founded by Panayiotis Giannakoulas and his wife Zoi Fillipou, the project beautifully bridges traditional herbal wisdom with sustainable, modern practices—offering a rich, hands-on experience for those passionate about natural wellness.
The experience begins with a guided walk through the organic herb gardens, where visitors can discover the therapeutic plants of Pelion, learn about their uses, and—depending on the season—join in activities like planting, harvesting, or tending to the garden. The tour continues in the processing workshop, where guests are introduced to traditional techniques of drying, sorting, and preparing herbs. A herbal tea tasting session rounds out the visit, allowing everyone to savor the rich aromas and healing properties of Mount Pelion’s native plants.
In addition to the herbal workshop in Drakeia, visitors are also welcome to explore the Chiron Botanicals factory in the Volos A' Industrial Area, where the team produces high-quality organic essential oils through steam distillation. This modern facility offers a behind-the-scenes look at how local plants are transformed into pure botanical extracts.
Inspired by Chiron, the wise centaur and healer of ancient Greek mythology, Chiron Botanicals invites every visitor to reconnect with nature and rediscover the deep-rooted healing traditions of the Pelion land.
